Clans and Families.
This list makes no attempt to distinguish between Clans and Families, nor to limit the use of the word 'Clan' to the
families of the Highlands of Scotland. The authors feel that historical precedence justifies the use of the term in its
wider meaning, which is, simply, 'Family'. To aid searching, we have used the popular modern 'English' spelling
of clan names. We welcome comment about the accuracy of our data!.
